There are many similarities between foreigners learning Chinese and Chinese learning foreign languages. Some people learn well, but others do not. Perhaps some people think it is due to talent, but it is actually closely related to learning methods. Therefore, the editor has compiled a teaching method about foreigners learning Chinese for reference, collection, and backup.
1. Recognize before writing
The structural relationship and morphological characteristics of Chinese characters are relatively obvious and easy to recognize, but writing is more difficult for international students. Students can first perceive the shape, understand the meaning, and remember the pronunciation of characters, reducing the requirements for writing. Read first and write later, read more and write less.
2. Redwashing
Using red notebooks or red paper to practice writing is a common method for elementary school students to learn Chinese characters, and it is also suitable for international students. In addition to infrared tracing, it is best to choose Chinese character writing practice books with positioning grids. Currently, commonly used grids include rice grid, well grid, nine palace grid, and Huixing grid, among which well grid practice writing has the best effect.
3. Stroke decomposition
Decomposing Chinese characters correctly into strokes, especially composite strokes such as "horizontal curling hooks" and "horizontal folding hooks", is helpful for writing Chinese characters and also for retrieving Chinese characters.
4. Counting strokes
Some strokes in Chinese characters appear to be two strokes but are actually connected, while others appear to be one stroke but are actually divided. The strokes of characters such as "Na", "Child", "Zhuan", "He", "Mei", "Convex", and "Pi" can be used to test whether students have mastered the writing rules of Chinese characters.
5. Stroke order
Choose Chinese characters that are prone to incorrect stroke order for practice. Students can write on the blackboard and leave comments. For example, characters such as "Yu, Che, Huo, Chu, Ji, Deng, Kao, Pi, Xun, Guan, concave, convex" are all prone to incorrect stroke order.
6. Book Space
Without using paper and pen, students can follow the Chinese language teacher to write in the air with their right index finger, and at the same time say the name of the stroke, such as "shu": "horizontal, vertical, pique, stroke, dot." This method can standardize the stroke name and stroke order, but the disadvantage is that it is time-consuming and difficult to unify when encountering complex composite strokes.
7. Literacy card
There are various literacy cards available in the market, and you can also make them yourself. It is best to use Chinese characters on the front and pinyin and definitions on the back (words or pictures can also be added). There are various ways to use literacy cards, such as guessing the pronunciation and meaning of Chinese characters, linking words, etc. You can also look at the back and write Chinese characters. It can be used by oneself, or two people can test each other.
8. Component assembly
Chinese as a foreign language teacher provides a set of components such as "mouth, ten, again, earth, female", and requires students to form more than ten Chinese characters.
9. Increase or decrease strokes
The teacher gives students several Chinese characters and asks them to add one stroke (or add two strokes, subtract one stroke) to form new characters. For example, adding a stroke to the following Chinese characters to form a new character. For example, adding a stroke to the following Chinese characters to form another Chinese character: "Ten, Wang, Ren, Ji, Xiu, Gu, Huo, Niu".
10. Radical construction
Give students a radical, such as "dan" or "ling", and ask them to use as many Chinese characters as possible.
